Wado-ryu - British Wadokai (B.W.K.)

British Wadokai is not affiliated to any of the many 'sport-karate' or 'all-styles' governing bodies around today. British Wadokai is registered with only traditional Wado Karate Governing Bodies; such as the British Wado Federation, European Wado Federation and the International Wado Federation.

Its motto is - 'Preserving the Original and Traditional!'

The technical foundations of British Wadokai were established back in 1963, under the direction of Tatsuo Suzuki Hanshi of the United Kingdom Karate-do Wadokai (U.K.K.W.), formally the United Kingdom Karate-do Federation (U.K.K.F. 1963-1975); therefore the traditional lineage of British Wadokai extends over many years.

The technical syllabus has remained unchanged since the first introduction of Wado Karate into the UK, such as Sanbon-gumite, Ohyo-gumite, Kihon-gumite, Kata etc. All these aspects are taught and promoted vigilantly within all British Wadokai Dojo and through the regular B.W.K. Wadoryu Standardisation Courses.

They welcome individuals wishing to train with them - whether you are beginner or more experienced. Please contact them to find a club near you. These clubs provide the opportunity to attend many specialist training courses held by highly respected instructors, and enter Wado competitions, should you wish to compete.
